Is your Scout ready to take their Scouting journey to the next level?

The application period for 2026 Scoutreach High Adventure Treks is in progress! Adult Applications are closed now but youth applications are open through the end of December! Your Scout could be hiking breathtaking vistas at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico or living amongst the diverse sea life of the Florida Keys at Sea Base.

High Adventure Treks are unique opportunities for Scouts to test their many skills and explore their limits under the guidance of trained professionals. Learn more about what each trek has to offer below.

SEA BASE- June 1st - June 6th, 2026

Keys Adventure Islamorada! Keys Adventure Islamorada will show you the variety of experiences the Florida Keys has to offer. This adventure combines all the elements of our most popular multi-adventures.Your crew will snorkel, paddle through mangrove forests, fish in the Florida Bay from 28ft. fishing vessels, and spend a day sailing aboard our own catamaran sailboat! Each day is a new day, and each night will be spent in air-conditioned dormitories. If you’re looking for an action-packed variety of aquatic activities, look no further. This adventure is a part of our COASTS program and is special needs accessible.

PHILMONT SCOUT RANCH- June 21st - June 29th 

Philmont Scout Ranch is the Scouts’ largest National High Adventure Base with dozens of camps scattered across rugged terrain that ranges in elevation from 6,500 to 12,441 feet. Philmont offers an unforgettable backpacking adventure with programs that feature the best of the Old West—horseback riding, burro packing, gold panning, and chuckwagon dinners. It’s an unbeatable recipe for fast-paced fun in the outdoors.

Applicants will be assessed a $25 application fee; an additional fee of $275, due by May 15th, 2026; other costs associated with Travel (such as Airline and Ground Transportation) will be covered by the Atlanta Area Council. Any applicant not selected will receive a refund of the $25 application fee.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) requires an Annual Health and Medical Record (AHMR) for all participants, including Scouts and adults, attending events longer than 72 hours. This record, comprised of Parts A, B, and C, must be updated within 12 months of the event. It includes a medical history, a physical evaluation, immunization record, proof of insurance and consent forms. Download
